THE LORD OUR STRENGTH AND FORTRESS

Ref to: Angels Sense and Nonsense

They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.  As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever (Psalm 125:1-2 (KJV)

Yesterday, while steadying still in the presence of the LORD, I began to perceive a scene I read from Anna Rountree’s The Priestly Bride. On her way to the LORD’s Garden in Heaven, she met two hilarious angels on her way. She was aching in pains of wanting to meet the LORD Jesus Christ, until these two angels showed up with so much roaring laughter as they jokingly sang a song for her. On her account:

They were laughing and talking. “Hello,” I said. “Who are you?” “Sense,” bowed the angel in the brown robe. “Nonsense,” bowed the angel in the blond. “What?” I laughed. “God is not into nonsense.” “Oh, yes,” said Nonsense. “There is more understood by the spirit than the mind. “And much that the mind is given to comprehend as true,” Sense added. “That reminds me of a song,” said Nonsense. “Oh, dear,” said Sense. “We will sing it for you,” added Nonsense.

Nonsense sang:

What is it like to live above?  What is it like above?

Walk blind you see, walk deaf you hear,

That’s what it’s like above, above.

That’s what it’s like above. There was a long pause. “Is that it?” Sense asked

It is hard to focus on the word of God, and build our faith just on God’s promise when we are faced with an extreme challenge. We try to make sense out of it and seem to feel that the word of God is not enough to get us through what we are seeing (applying sense). We tend to doubt God's mercy or power to see us through. But as the Angel Nonsense would say, to live above or to walk with the LORD would mean walking blind to the things that tend to shake our faith in the LORD; walk deaf to the things we hear on the natural, and we will hear the tender powerful and assuring word of the LORD who promised never to leave us nor forsake us at any time. So, we hold unto the LORD through His written alone. Just as He promised us, He is our Strength, Fortress and Refuge. He is more than enough for us. His angels encamp round about us because we trust in Him. Those who put their trust in Him shall never be put to shame, but He shall encompass them with mercies and lovingkindness. To Him alone be Glory and Honor forever in Jesus Name, amen!

Let's bless the LORD's Name with this song:
