THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:5-6 (KJV)

This morning, the LORD called my attention to this all-important scripture: The LORD our Righteousness. In our lives, we struggle to please God sometimes by our strength. Every look at our weakness, discourages us from holding unto the gift of righteousness the LORD has given unto us in Christ. We continue to assure ourselves that as soon as we get rid of our weakness, we will please the LORD. It is however, written that it is not of Him that willeth nor of Him that runneth, but of the LORD that showeth mercy. As much as we do not take the grace of God for granted and dwell in sin; we need to fight the good fight of fight to stand on the free gift of right standing with the LORD. As I entered into the bathtub for shower, the LORD Jesus for the first time showed me His nail-pierced Hands and gave me the mental imagery of what He suffered for us so that we could have the free gift of righteousness. We therefore, do not allow our weakness of the flesh to deter us from thrusting ourselves into the loving Hands of the LORD in faith knowing that we are justified by faith not by our personal righteousness knowing that we are not justified by the deeds of our righteousness, but by His grace. As we establish ourselves on our righteous standing with the LORD, we begin to expect and reap the benefits of righteousness which include peace with God, man and our environment. He is our righteousness, let us rejoice and be glad in Him.
