THE SHAKING OF ALL THINGS
(For yesterdays. devotion).
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind…Isaiah 65:17.
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind…Isaiah 65:17.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth
the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that
those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we,
receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may
serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: ((Hebrews 12:27-28).
For
thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet
once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and
the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all
nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. The silver is mine, and
the gold is mine, saith the LORD
of hosts (Haggai 2:6-8 (KJV)
The LORD has created His new Heaven and
new Earth wherein dwelleth righteousness, and justice. He thus asks us to
rejoice in that which He creates because the old Heaven and earth shall pass
away and replaced with the new one.
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD (Isaiah 65: 18-25).
He will thus, shake all things so that all
that are not formed and upheld by the word of God shall be shaken away. They shall
be melted away with fervent heat. The Psalmist says in Psalm 102:26 that they shall
perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment;
as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: In Daniel 2:44,
the Kingdom of God shall crush all the Kingdoms of the world and shall stand
and fill the Earth. Isaiah also prophesied in Isaiah 40, that all flesh is
grass and all the glory of the flesh is the glory of the grass. The grass
withers and its glory fades away, but the word of God endures forever. The
Kingdom of this world thus have become the Kingdoms of our God and of His Christ,
and He reigns forever. The law of God is the only governing law over all the
Earth. Paul therefore admonished us that knowing that these things will be
melted away, what manner of persons we ought to be in all holy conversation and
godliness… We thus, look forward to the new Heaven and earth wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved,
seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in
peace, without spot, and blameless ((2 Peter 3:11,13-14).
