Have
not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither
be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy
God is with thee whithersoever thou goest (Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
This morning, as the words of the song: Whom shall I
fear (by Chris Tomlin) comes ringing in my heart, I begin to pick the encouraging
messages that make up the song.
..whom shall I fear, I
know who goes before me, I know who stands behind: the God of angels’ army, He’s
always by my side. The one who reigns forever, He’s a Friend of mine…No weapon against
me shall stay, YOU HOLD THE WHOLE WORLD IN YOUR HANDS, I’m holding on to Your promises, You are faithful, You are
Faithful…etc.
These are
faith-filled words to nourish our hearts this morning as we enter the day. The
Psalmist says that his mercies are new every morning. Holding unto His mercies
and faithfulness and facing and overcoming the evils of the day, we shall be
victorious and prosperous. The secret to victory is COURAGE and faith. In one
of her experiences, Anna Rountree encountered an angel called: Angel Victory. One
of the keys to victory as the angel told Anna is to be courageous. The LORD
asked Joshua to be strong and very courageous. We are to be strong on the
promises of God in the face of all the circumstances of our lives. No weapon
formed against us shall stay, because God is the LORD of Hosts, and He is always
on our side. He cares about the very hair of our head, and His faithfulness is
as sure as night and day. His mercies over us endure forever. Let us go forth
today with joy and gladness of heart: singing and rejoicing in Him for He goes
before us to make all crooked paths straight and rough places plain, amen!
